Canine intestinal worms:
What every dog owner should know about dog worms.

A recent (November 2007) study by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that:

  • almost 14% of the U.S. population (more than previously understood) is infected with Toxocara (also known as roundworm), an internal parasite that can be passed from animals to people.
  • children are more likely to be infected by canine intestinal worms.
  • dog ownership is associated with dog worm infection.
